Senior Gameplay Programmer
We’ve got a hand with legs, 300+ silly multiplayer mini games, and an Apple Arcade Game of the Year award. Now we need your help making our newest game even goofier.
We’re looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer to help expand our WHAT THE CLASH? universe, someone who not only implements gameplay features but genuinely cares about how and why a design choice works (or doesn’t). This role leans 60% programming and 40% game design, because we believe every programmer can design and every designer can program.
Here’s what that looks like day to day
Build and ship gameplay code. You’ll implement features end-to-end in an existing Unity/C# codebase and ship regularly in a live environment.
Generate design ideas. You’ll take part in shaping features, articulate intent, evaluate tradeoffs, and iterate through discussion with the team.
Keep the game healthy. Fix bugs, improve systems, review test videos, and document findings so issues don’t come back to haunt us.
Extend and refine what’s there. You’ll build on existing mechanics, making them more robust and enjoyable for players.
Prototype and let go. Not everything ships, and that’s fine. Comfort with iteration and refactoring is part of the job.
Must-haves
3+ years of commercial game development experience, having shipped at least one game as part of a team or on your own.
Strong Unity and C# skills. You’re comfortable navigating a shared codebase and writing maintainable code you’d be proud to hand off.
You care about stability, performance, and long-term maintainability, and you leave systems better than you found them.
You genuinely value collaboration and working very closely with every member of the team.
You approach other people’s ideas with openness and try to understand the intention before giving feedback or pushing back.
Nice-to-haves
You’ve worked on a live game before and are used to the rhythm of shipping updates regularly and prioritizing pragmatically.
Experience designing for multiplayer. Making a game for multiplayer adds complexity, and knowing how to identify and elegantly handle all the edge cases can make a big difference.
Requirements for any job at Triband
You thrive in taking ownership of your area: you spot problems, seek advice when needed, and implement creative solutions that push projects forward.
You’re motivated by collaboration, mutual respect, inclusiveness, and creativity, and you actively contribute to sustaining that culture.
You value a positive work environment and contribute to making the studio a fun and supportive place.
You have team production experience, such as using version control software (we use git), branching, stand-ups, sprints, and reviews.
Practicalities
We don’t offer relocation support or visa sponsorship for this role.
We work a 37-hour work week, with core hours 10-15, and the freedom to start and finish anywhere between 7 and 18.
We work on-site at our cozy office in central Copenhagen.
No crunch. People over deadlines.
Our working language is English.
We offer
Silly but ambitious projects, and the chance to work on and impact great games that reach millions of players.
A playful and ambitious work environment where experimentation is encouraged.
Friendly and kind colleagues who love making each other laugh as much as making games.
A professional development budget to invest in your growth.
Social activities like Friday bars, hobby nights, board game nights, team events, you name it.
Daily lunch at a local restaurant just a walk across the lakes away, with plant-based options (and soft ice on Thursdays).
Six weeks of vacation (five standard plus one extra on us).
Paid parental leave at full salary for the periods covered by state reimbursement.
Child's first sick day on us, no questions asked.
Pension plan and private health insurance.
Endless amounts of coffee.
